Conservative Outrage
Winning Elections

The Republican Party has experienced significant division under Donald Trump, driven by his populist rhetoric and a departure from traditional conservative principles, as reported by OKMagazine.com. This schism reflects a broader ideological struggle.

Conservative writer Charles C.W. Cooke recently took aim at leaders within the Republican Party, making the case that such leaders don’t truly prioritize winning elections. “And, frankly, I have seen nothing from the rah-rah-rah wing of the GOP in recent years that suggests that it minds one way or the other if the party wins, loses, ties, or disappears bubbling into the sea,” Cooke said.

Established Republicans continue to grapple with a faction that prioritizes nationalism and anti-establishment sentiments, often at the expense of party unity and long-standing conservative values.

Increasingly Divided
Cooke’s criticism comes as the GOP has become increasingly divided, with a number of leaders expressing their dissatisfaction with the Republican Party’s overall allegiance to MAGA over traditional conservative values.
Conservative Outrage
Cooke noted the outrage of some conservatives regarding Lara Trump, who has spent extensive time promoting her music rather than focusing on her role as co-chair of the Republican National Committee, arguing that Lara’s presence is a clear sign of the party’s laziness.
Indifference and Sloth
Lara “is merely the latest symptom of the GOP’s indifference and sloth,” Cooke wrote.
Little Interest
Cooke expressed frustration that those who claim to be dedicated to “saving the country” have actually showed little interest in taking the necessary actions to achieve such a goal.
No Discernible Interest
“I am repeatedly told that it is imperative that we ‘save the country,’ and yet, invariably, the people who shout this most loudly exhibit no discernible interest in doing any of the difficult things that would get them closer to their ostensible goal,” Cooke wrote.
Bad Candidates
“To put it as bluntly as possible, people who actually believe that they are facing ‘the most critical election of our lifetime’ don’t choose bad candidates such as Donald Trump and Kari Lake,” Cooke added.
