‘My Heart is Broken’: Update on Mariah Carey After Family Tragedy

Nick Cannon has shared an update on Mariah Carey’s well-being, as reported by OKMagazine.com. Carey’s mother, Patricia, and sister, Alison both died on the same day in what has described as a “tragic turn of events.”“She’s doing the best that she possibly can, considering the circumstances. But as a family, we just got to be there to support one another, show love,” Cannon said. Both passed away on August 26, with no specific cause of death disclosed, prompting Carey to request privacy. Cannon noted that Carey has been spending quality time with their 13-year-old twins, Moroccan and Monroe, which has been a source of comfort for her. “She’s really having a great time with the kids. That is, you know, the most important thing in the world to her, so it’s outstanding to see them supporting their mum the way they do,” Cannon said. In her statement, Carey expressed her heartbreak over the losses and gratitude for the support she has received. “My heart is broken that I’ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day,” Carey stated. “I feel blessed that I was able to spend the last week with my mom before she passed. I appreciate everyone’s love and support and respect for my privacy during this impossible time.”
