Made it so compelling
Nicole Kidman spoke about challenging herself

The Venice Film Festival
At the Venice Film Festival, Kidman said the film encompasses themes of desire, secrets, and personal empowerment.
A very liberating story
“This is one woman’s story, and this is, I hope, a very liberating story,” Kidman said. “That’s to me what made it so unique, because suddenly I was going to be in the hands of a woman with this material. It was very dear to our shared instincts and very freeing.”
She felt comfortable
Kidman said she felt comfortable filming intimate scenes due to Halina Reijn’s direction, and never once felt exploited.
Made it so compelling
“That’s what made it so compelling, was being in the hands of Halina, because I knew she wasn’t going to exploit me,” Kidman said. “I mean, however anyone interprets that, I didn’t feel exploited. I felt very much a part of it. It’s the story that I wanted to be a part of, that I wanted to tell. And every part of me was committed to that.”
Most exposing projects
The movie is undoubtedly one of Kidman’s most exposing projects.
Excitement and nervousness
Kidman has expressed both excitement and nervousness regarding its public release after receiving a standing ovation at the film’s premiere.
Leaves me exposed
“This definitely leaves me exposed and vulnerable and frightened and all of those things when it’s given to the world, but making it with these people here was delicate and intimate,” Kidman said.
Set to hit theaters
“Babygirl” is set to hit theaters on December 25.
